We Don’t Just Sell These Supports - We Use Them Every Day

Little Supports 3D was created from our own family’s journey.

We are a Queensland family raising three incredible children with disability. Our youngest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at just two years old. At the time, he was non-speaking and had very limited ways to communicate.

Like many families, we searched for practical supports that could help him communicate his needs, understand everyday routines and make daily life a little easier. When we couldn’t always find supports that worked for him, we started creating our own.

We began making:

• Communication tags
• Visual supports
• Routine boards
• Checklists
• Simple communication tools designed around what our child actually needed

As Our Children Have Grown, Our Supports Have Grown With Them

Our daughter is verbal, but during periods of significant overwhelm or shut-down, she can lose her ability to speak, move or communicate for hours at a time.

During these moments, simple visual communication tags such as “I Need Space,” “I’m Overwhelmed,” “Yes” and “No” give her another way to communicate when spoken words are difficult or unavailable.

Just as importantly, these supports help the people around her understand what she needs and how they can support her with patience, dignity and respect.

Our family’s journey changed again when our daughter began experiencing significant challenges at school. Together, we made the decision to home-school so she could learn in an environment that better supported her individual needs.

It was during this time that Little Supports 3D grew from something we created for our own children into a small family business helping other families too.

Lived Experience + Professional Experience

Alongside our family’s lived experience, we bring years of professional experience supporting people with disability.

This combination of professional knowledge and everyday lived experience influences how we approach every product we create, with a focus on supports that are practical, functional, accessible and easy to use in real life.

Every communication tag, routine board, check-list, visual support and sensory item we create has been inspired by experiences within our own home.

These aren’t simply products we make they’re supports we use too.

We use them at home, during therapy, in the community, while learning and throughout everyday family life.

Every Person Communicates Differently

We understand that visual supports aren’t an instant solution.

Learning to use visual communication can take time, consistency, modelling and individualised support. What works for one person may not work for another — and that’s okay.

That’s why our communication and visual supports can be customised around the individual, including their:

• Communication needs
• Routines
• Preferences
• Interests
• Sensory needs
• Everyday environments
• Situations where they may need additional support

We believe supports should work with the person, not expect the person to fit the support.
